HOPE MARGUERITE & VITRUVIAN SHINE AT PLATTER AWARDS
We have incredible news to share!
The Platter South African Wine Guide 2021 results have just been announced and we have achieved two 5-star awards for the Beaumont Hope Marguerite 2019 and Beaumont Vitruvian 2017.
Hope Marguerite 2019 continues to meet the extremely high standards set by previous vintages. This iconic “benchmark chenin” has now achieved 5 stars for five consecutive vintages and 9 vintages since 2008.
Hope Marguerite 2019 “is built to last with higher sugar than usual, yet graceful and poised as ever, with fresh acidity & dense, creamy, yeasty mouthfeel balanced around core of ripe stone fruit”
The second award for Vitruvian 2017 is an epic award for Beaumont Family Wines, Sebastian and the cellar team. Having consistently scored 4 ½ stars each year, this is the first time the Vitruvian, our flagship red, has achieved a 5-star rating and it is the first red wine from Beaumont to achieve this milestone! Of course, in our humble opinion many of our red wines have surpassed this goal post in the past, but it is wonderful to have official recognition for this wine and our reputation as a producer of top quality and elegant red wines.
Beaumont Vitruvian 2017 “Eclectic flagship made only in the best vintages, 40% Mourvedre in 17 co-fermented with cab franc, pinotage, tinta & petit Verdot, beautifully unified after 2 years in French oak. Richer yet also more graceful than 2016”
Although these wines have won the top slot this year, the rest of our portfolio continues to score well and achieve consistently great scores. Here are the results for the rest of our range from Platter Guide 2021:
