SEASONS GREETINGS FROM BEAUMONT FAMILY WINES
2018 has been another excellent year on the farm.
Fantastic normal winter rains fell to break the drought, vines budded and flowered beautifully, brilliant ratings and reviews in Platter and Tim Atkins, delicious wines (especially Chenin‘18 & Dangerfield‘16) in the bottle and Nadia is pregnant with another Beaumont!
Let's hope that the 2019 harvest is as promising as it looks.
HOPE MARGUERITE GETS 5 STARS
We were very honoured to be invited to the launch of Platter's South African Wine Guide 2019 a month ago. At the event, we received our seventh 5-star rating for the Hope Marguerite 2017. The guide describes the 22nd vintage of Hope Marguerite as follows: "Retains accustomed classic style, layered with tropical fruit, fleshed out by creamy oatmeal deft oaking, yet wonderfully restrained and elegant" Stock of the Hope Marguerite 2017 is running low, but we still have some bottles left for our visitors to the farm, or they can be ordered directly online.
Fascinating fact: Hope Marguerite was first bottled in 1997 – only three barrels. At the time, it was one of the first barrel fermented and matured styles of Chenin Blanc in the country.
