Centuries of Milling Tradition under one Roof
Beaumont is home to one of the Overberg’s most historic watermills, and over the last years it has been restored into working order through the incredible enthusiasm and dedication of Andy Selfe. It houses three different mill machines, one of which is the Vitruvian. This is driven by a beautiful wooden water wheel that is powered by a natural stream – and now it’s all in perfect working order for the first time in 80 years! The Beaumont Watermill is a work in progress – but this living museum does produce beautiful stone ground flour in limited quantities, available at the cellar.
